Integrated Modelling of Socio-environmental Transitions (IMOSET)
Models IMOSET makes use of a number of computational models, all of which are freely available. This page describes and links to the most important
DISPERS-CA is a cellular automata model dedeloped in the R environment for modelling the spatial diffusion of past populations (hunter-gatherers, animals) across a landscape. The Actor, Policy and Land Use Simulator (APoLUS) model is a spatial land use allocation model developed in the R and GRASS GIS environments. APoLUS allows the complex interactions of multiple land uses to be modelled in the context of the dynamic behaviour of key land based actors (farmers, policy makers, developers). Image source: Richard Hewitt and COMPLEX project The SIMLANDER model is a spatial land use allocation model for the R environment which allows rapid dynamic simulation of single dynamic land use processes, like afforestation, deforestation or urbanisation. Originally designed as a prototype superceded by the more advanced APoLUS model, the simplicity and flexibility of SIMLANDER has maintained interest, and it has seen several updates, improvements and adpatations. |
